Hi All,
I am still here. I just wanted to let you all know that. Recently I have been a little disenfranchised with the whole blog thing. You know, lots of work with slim to nil returns. Well just incase you were wondering, I have gotten the nil back for all the work put in. Normally I don’t care but recently I have. Hence the break.
I will update later also planning on launching a new site/new section here with what is the best drinking game ever. You will see, stay tuned.

Learn to Run Your Own Dirty Convenience Mart May 12, 2008

Grab a turban and some shitty knick-knacks as you get ready to embark on your training to run a dirty little stop and rob shop in Konbeni DS: Otona no Keiei Ryoku Training (The Konbeni DS: Adult’s Management Power Training). Now you too can pretend to be that old guy behind the counter who wouldn’t sell you cigarettes when you were 17. From stocking hot dogs to Horny Goat Weed Sex-MaXXXX, you will feel what it is like to run a gas station.
I kid, the game actually focuses on running a Konbeni, a Japanese convenience mart a la Lawson CS or Family Mart, in which you will have to stock bento boxes and hopefully have to do an oden minigame. It should teach those kids who play DS during school about their future careers.
Whatever you do though, don’t call the person behind the counter Grandma as it is liable to get you shot (video after the jump) or as Grandma said “His nuts…… they gone.”
Gyagu Manga Biyori Video Anime Shorts May 9, 2008

Gyagu Manga Biyori, which translates directly as Good Day for Gag Manga is something I wish I had known about earlier. Just like Azumanga Daioh, these shorts are based on extremely short manga, not full books. They are animated into short clips that are only a few minutes long. And extremely hilarious.
When first viewing them, I initially drew a parallel to The Ping Pong Club which still takes the cake for most fucked up series of anime ever. This was like that except in a work friendly, shortened version. So far Gyagu Manga Biyori seems to be a win and I hope to find more. Hit the jump for the other videos and also take a look over at TV in Japan who posted these.
China to World: SCREW YOU! May 9, 2008

The latest news to come out of China is that people are shocked that the Chinese government might not fully release its stranglehold on the internet there. For those unaware, like most people protesting China for no reason other than to look cool, the Party does not allow full internet access. There is the Great Firewall of China which blocks any sites that are deemed unworthy.
In the recent past Wang Wei, executive vice president of the Beijing Olympic organizers, had promised media would have “complete freedom” to report over the event, but stupid dolts are realizing that “complete freedom” means whatever the Party says is okay. Really, this is nothing new. Just like how China will not commit to preventing piracy of Olympic branded goods, it is just too hard and they really just don’t care. They are busy anyways fighting to break the bonds of democratic oppression in which we are all bounded by. SAVE ME!!!

This just in, there has been a major quake hitting a 6.7 on the Richter scale north of Tokyo early Thursday (remember that Japan lives in the future by one day hence the awesome technology).
The quake was around the Ibaraki and Tochigi prefectures north of Tokyo where as in Tokyo it measured a 5 on the scale, enough to crack holes in weak buildings. Mothra has not been sighted so everyone seems to be okay.
Boom! Shake shake the room.
Horse into Glue: The Derby Incident And Its Need May 7, 2008

Most people have heard about the happenings at the Kentucky Derby. A horse, Eight Belles, secured second place only to then go shatter both front ankles on the track. The horse was then put down immediately, within minutes of finishing the race. Of course PETA and all the other retards of the world came out of the woodwork to bitch and moan about killing the horse. Well guess what? It turns out it was done to help the poor animal from suffering, unlike the rest of us people who can’t put down the PETA people who suffer from extreme retardation. Part of this is due to the fact that the horse would not have been able to even live afterwards:
“A horse’s hoof is designed like a passive mechanical pump,” John Hermanson, a zoologist who studies horses at Cornell University in New York.. “Every time they take a step, it provides a little assist in driving blood back to the heart.”
I am sorry PETA but last I checked horses need blood to move in their body just like me. So really, Eight Belles was treated justly in not allowing the poor animal to be in pain. Next up, trip to the glue factory.

Although not the newest news to those who are heavily into anime in Japan, i.e. you cried like a bitch when Gundam 00 ended on the cliffhanger, the latest Gainax venture has started to show up on torrents titled Rebuild of Evangelion. Just like how Blade Runner was made but the technology did not exist for the true vision to occur, Hideaki Anno has now streamlined the story and is making a 4 movie epic of the story Evangelion. Made in HD with amazing redraws of scenes, this shall be nothing to look down on.
While I don’t condone piracy (yeah right, that is just for the fuckhole MPAA so you can eat my anus) this has not yet even been given thought on being brought over here in some disgusting repackage on DVD at $30 a disc. Instead hop on over to Anime Suki and get the first part right now. Remember to download the giant 1.45 gig version as it is in 720p goodness.
Shake yo boot like a bootlegga!

I have said it once and I will say it again, I would become a polygamist just so I can have two wives, my second being Cooking Mama. She help for me cooking awesome food and should someone try to serve me crap she will unleash the fiery demons that live within her eyes. The next best thing is this fan made Cooking Mama apron.
Using web transfers and felt, this is possibly one of the greatest items I have ever seen created for a game. Not only does it look good but it is Cooking Mama. And no one screws with someone wearing a Cooking Mama apron otherwise she will ass rape you with a wire whisk till you do not mind.
Gran Turismo Creator Takes on the ‘Ring May 2, 2008

So what would you expect if you threw your average game developer into his own game? Would Wil Wright be able to handle fighting a bunch of Spores? Would Jon Romero own his own ass in Daikatana? Would Peter Molyneux be crushed under uncompleted, buggy code and unfulfilled promises in Black & White? Well it turns out that if you stick GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi in a new Nissan GT-R and place him on a wet Nurburgring, he just ends up hauling ass at 193MPH.
The creator of the greatest racing game ever tackles the real life version of his own game and it turns out the man can handle his own. An auto enthusiast, which you would like to think considering how long GT has been is career, he goes on a nice outing in Germany. Too bad they don’t make all game devs make sure that they can do what they code. I wonder if Kojima CQC’s people in the office when they don’t meet deadlines.
Nikka Yoichi 20 Year Scotch: Best Single Malt in The World April 30, 2008

No longer does Japan have to sit bitch to the Scottish Highlands when it comes to scotch. Whisky Magazine, the leading authority on the spirit, just revealed that Nikka Yoichi 20 year old single malt has won best of the year. If you are wondering what it tastes like:
Nose: amazingly original at first nosing, starting on old kelp, oysters, fishmonger’s… Also tar, diesel oil, well hung pheasant. All that settles down then and we get more ‘regular’ nuts, cigar box, leather, caramel crème and vanilla – and let’s not forget the spices (curry, lots of cinnamon)… A fantastic and unusual profile.
Mouth: bold, ample, spicy attack, with a great sourness (small apples, grape skin). Gets quite acrid but that’s great in this context. Superb sharpness. Develops on ‘genuine’ liquorice, something varnishy, tea, notes of Fino (flor, old walnuts). Hints of kiwi and green apples. Beautiful and highly original. Long finish mostly on fresh apples and cinnamon… I love it, I think it’s a masterpiece. 91 points. -Whisky Exchange
