MaoChan Reviews: Storm Hawks

July 13, 2007

MCR Storm Hawks Title Alt

We have some new happenings here at MaoChan. As most of you know, I used to do tech gadget reviews, it was fun and always allowed me to showcase or slam a product. Well MaoChan has gotten pretty big in terms of visitors. And someone took notice as I was approached to do a review. This will hopefully, as time goes on, become a regular part of MaoChan. On the chopping block is an up and coming show on Cartoon Network called Storm Hawks.

Combining anime inspired CG graphics, motorcycles with wings, and a dose of Saturday morning humor, Storm Hawks is fun on many levels such that I think it can appeal to more than just the 10-13 year old boy crowd. But be warned, you better realize this is no Citizen Kane.

Cardboard Chā Shāo Bāo Taste Great, Less Filling

July 13, 2007

Cardboard Bao

In Beijing, police arrested a man who was cooking up Chā Shāo Bāo, roast pork buns, and selling them to the public. The reason behind the arrest was the mans recipe which consisted of chopped cardboard, softened with an industrial chemical and flavored with fatty pork and powdered seasoning.

“Most people can’t. It fools the average person,” the maker says. “I don’t eat them myself.”

State TV’s undercover investigation filmed the operation and the man “cooking” up the food. Police shut him down soon after, with a beating from Chen Kenichi to follow for disgracing Chinese cuisine.

“Tastes like burning.”

The Saga of The P-P-P-Powerbook!

July 13, 2007

This has been a thing of internet lore but I feel that with all great legends, you have to remind everyone if it from time to time. Now come and listen to a story about a man named Jed guy who wasn’t going to take shit from any scammer/Nigerian-grifter/asshole and decided to strike back with a vengeance when they tried to rip him off of his Apple Powerbook.

Granted this is a long story, 28 pages, it is worth it. Never has someone gotten revenge in such a well thought out plan.

Korean Transformers Phone

Korean Transformers Phone

Just concept, but a cool concept since it sports 2 mini-guns, this phone from a Korean designer as taken note of the transformers hype and also borrowed a page from Lucas’ AT-ST design.

Too bad this isn’t real, it sure would deter crime. I think all gadgets and technology should just transform into killing machines who are ready to mutilate anyone not authorized to touch it. Then we could finally let McGruff retire, the old boy needs to be put down.

Video showing it in action.
