Tour De France Leader Ousted

July 26, 2007

Rassmussen Booted

In what has been a shocking turn of events in a sport plagued by controversy, current Tour De France yellow jersey leader, Michael Rasmussen, has been ousted from the tour.

The 33-year-old Dane, was expelled by his Rabobank team late Wednesday for lying about his whereabouts to avoid drug tests before the Tour started July 7. Instead of being in Mexico, as he repeatedly said, he was seen training in Italy. That unraveled his week long defense that he had evaded the unscheduled tests by mistake, not by design.

The sport has turned to constant monitoring of its participants such that if your location is not known, it is assumed you are hiding something such as doping. Although harsh, I see this as a good measure to help clean up the sport and bring it back on track. I was slated to pedal for Team USA but I got banned, for insane awesomeness.

Watch TV on Demand For Free With Joost

July 26, 2007

Joost

I can’t tell you how cool this is, watching Generation 1 Transformers on demand at work. Nothing like getting your Starscream fix on the clock. With Joost you can stream any number of TV shows, movies, documentaries and flip through them like it was live TV. With a high quality feed and real backing from companies such as Warner Bros. & Paramount, you know this is going to be great.

Right now selection is good but is growing daily. The sign up is a little complicated as it requires them to hand out invitations on a first come, first serve basis. But once you are up and rolling, it is the hotness. Now to go get all worked up watching Megatron spout off some ridiculous speech on how much cooler he is than Bumblebee.

Slash & Burn: Japanese Movie Reviews

July 26, 2007

Slash & Burn

I have been getting into more Asian cinema due to the horrible crap that has been coming out in America. Granted Transformers was as good as being rubbed all over with jelly donuts, the bulk of film here leaves me hungry. A site called Slash & Burn has come to my attention as a great place to get reviews on Asian film. Granted there are others like Rotten Tomatoes, the problem is that you have no idea what exists so you can’t look them up.

On Slash & Burn, they only cover Japanese films. So when you browse the well written reviews there, you get only the movies that you are looking for. After reading a few, I feel good about recommending this site as the reviews are well written and the writer has a good grasp on Japanese culture.

Burn it all.
