Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Has Resigned

Shinzo Abe

In what essentially is something that everyone who kept up on current events thought was inevitable, Japanese Prime Minister announced Wednesday that he will resign, ending a troubled year-old government that has suffered scandals and a huge electoral defeat.

This also comes as Japan readys to decide on its actions in the Indian Ocean. Abe has said that he would quit if he failed to win parliamentary passage of legislation extending the mission. Abe suggested that his departure could aid bipartisan passage of the bill. I hope that come next year, we can just look back and laugh. Unlike America where we live with our 4-8 year mistakes.

Peace out.
