Final Fantasy: PIV Page is Live

June 27, 2008

Well to celebrate a glorious return to the blogging world and also MaoChan’s new design, I have released the first version of the greatest drinking game ever conceived. Don’t get me wrong but Kings gets stale, Beer Pong (whatever the fuck version you play) requires room and equipment, and Flip Cup is just that (read: Stupid). So now here is a drinking game that feeds the nerd side of people and offers complexity, strategy, cunning, and most of all, the opportunity to drink a fuckton of alcohol.

Check out the page listed on the top, right-hand side of the site.

BankQuest Levels Up Your Money

June 23, 2008

I am tired of having change all around. I hate pennies and wish I could do something useful like play a game when I have a pocket full of nickels and dimes. Now with BankQuest you can take those slivers of metal and turn them into weapons and armor for your adventurer as you play through this RPG quest.

Made by Takara, famous for their Walkie Bits and other toys, the BankQuest will hold yup to 50,000 yen which is $500 American although I assume less since we don’t have $1 & $5 coins in our country and NO that stupid Sacajawea didn’t pan out into real currency so it doesn’t count. Goes on sale August 7th.

That sword, I’ll pay a fine price.

Hottest Cosplay Characters

May 23, 2008

Cosplay has been covered on here a few times, highlighting the good and the very fucking terrible. Well this next batch will not disappoint. Not just looking good but these are some of the most accurate to the source cosplayers out there. No fat rolls or off color mistakes here.

One to note is the Final Fantasy VI cosplayer dressed as Celes. Not only did she dress the part but she did it in style by dressing as the original Amano artwork Celes, including a very stylized sword. I thought that was a nice touch to show the original source material. Because really if she dressed as Celes from the game, she would be a 50 pixel high block of random squares and color.

Dress up.

Learn to Run Your Own Dirty Convenience Mart

May 12, 2008

Grab a turban and some shitty knick-knacks as you get ready to embark on your training to run a dirty little stop and rob shop in Konbeni DS: Otona no Keiei Ryoku Training (The Konbeni DS: Adult’s Management Power Training). Now you too can pretend to be that old guy behind the counter who wouldn’t sell you cigarettes when you were 17. From stocking hot dogs to Horny Goat Weed Sex-MaXXXX, you will feel what it is like to run a gas station.

I kid, the game actually focuses on running a Konbeni, a Japanese convenience mart a la Lawson CS or Family Mart, in which you will have to stock bento boxes and hopefully have to do an oden minigame. It should teach those kids who play DS during school about their future careers.

Whatever you do though, don’t call the person behind the counter Grandma as it is liable to get you shot (video after the jump) or as Grandma said “His nuts…… they gone.”

Cooking Mama Apron

May 2, 2008

I have said it once and I will say it again, I would become a polygamist just so I can have two wives, my second being Cooking Mama. She help for me cooking awesome food and should someone try to serve me crap she will unleash the fiery demons that live within her eyes. The next best thing is this fan made Cooking Mama apron.

Using web transfers and felt, this is possibly one of the greatest items I have ever seen created for a game. Not only does it look good but it is Cooking Mama. And no one screws with someone wearing a Cooking Mama apron otherwise she will ass rape you with a wire whisk till you do not mind.

Gran Turismo Creator Takes on the ‘Ring

May 2, 2008

So what would you expect if you threw your average game developer into his own game? Would Wil Wright be able to handle fighting a bunch of Spores? Would Jon Romero own his own ass in Daikatana? Would Peter Molyneux be crushed under uncompleted, buggy code and unfulfilled promises in Black & White? Well it turns out that if you stick GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi in a new Nissan GT-R and place him on a wet Nurburgring, he just ends up hauling ass at 193MPH.

The creator of the greatest racing game ever tackles the real life version of his own game and it turns out the man can handle his own. An auto enthusiast, which you would like to think considering how long GT has been is career, he goes on a nice outing in Germany. Too bad they don’t make all game devs make sure that they can do what they code. I wonder if Kojima CQC’s people in the office when they don’t meet deadlines.

Play Catan & Carcassonne Online Free

March 26, 2008

Settlers of Catan

If you have been to my place you would realize that the latest craze to break out is non-stop play of Settlers of Catan. What is Catan you ask?

Settlers was the first German-style board game to achieve popularity outside Europe, and has been called the “killer app” of designer board games. Over 11 million games in the Catan series have been sold, and the game has been translated into twenty-five languages from the original German.

So in otherwords everyone plays Catan. Well now you can too with free online play at Aso Brain Games. They feature ranking, custom boards, even play including the expansions (Seafarers of Catan & Cities and Knights). They also feature online Carcassonne play. If you don’t know what that is then you can look it up yourself, I’m tired of doing all the work in this relationship you bum.

Got any wood?
