I Survived Nothing But an American Game Show

June 30, 2008

As soon as I saw the previews for this crap show, I knew something was wrong. There is no way any real Japanese gameshow would let some random American reality show clog up their schedule with filming some stupid shit. And it is just now that more people are realizing the truth that the show, I Survived a Japanese Game Show, is fake.

From the fact that every game on the show is a poor rip off of older shows to their “Japanese host” who is an American actor, there is not a shred of reality in the mixture. What is great is that more people are realizing it and hopefully the show will end fast.

BOO!

Million Kazoku

June 27, 2008

After seeing the atrocious shit that was the ABC show I Survived A Japanese Gameshow, in all its fake glory (the host is American and the show does not air in Japan), I figured it was time to remind people what real Japanese game shows are like. I have posted before about a personal favorite called Haneru no Tobira many times. But here is one that not many people know about called Million Kazoku.

The premise of the show is that they have famous people, singers and tv actors, come to your house and you have 30 minutes to hide in your house. If someone can stay hidden the full time, you win 1,000,000 Yen ($10,000 US roughly). The cool thing too is that the families are encouraged to cheat a bit. If you hit the jump, there is another episode where the family’s daughter gets shoved somewhere pretty creative, and no it is not in someone’s ass.

Tokyo Anime Fair 2008 Photo Tour

Tokyo Anime Fair 2008

The guys over at the always awesome Akihabara News took a trip over to the Tokyo Anime Fair and provided a great gallery of photos. The fair brings in many Japanese TV channel or Studios that are there to promote the next year’s big items such as the new Macross series which will start airing in April. As always was the ever present Gundam. By the way, ever wonder where Gundanium comes from?

Gundanium’s name is actually an acronym; it stands for Genetic on Universal Neutrally Different Alloy. The suffix -nium was added to distinguish it from similar alloys being made on Earth. In the After Colony Universe, the word “Gundam” is derived from this acronym (GUNDAnium Mobile suit). Despite this fact, not every mobile suit made with Gundanium is a Gundam (examples: Vayeate, Mercurius).

Gundanium.

Haneru no Tobira: Bikini Goo Men New Year’s Slide

January 25, 2008

So last night, the Misses saw yesterdays post and was all “Again with the boobs, do you think of anything else?” Well in actuality probably not. I am sure that all men think of is Steak and Tits. Well this is for you ladies and not so straight fellas, a special New Year’s edition of Haneru no Tobira. The gag? To cover your sexy self with goo and slide down while the host is in drag. It is nothing but hot bikini men covered in goo while sliding around action. Cuz that is what ladies want. Also Lunar New Year is soon approaching and thus a giant rat is shown on the floor.

The Rat (鼠) was welcomed in ancient times as a protector and bringer of material prosperity. It is an animal associated with aggression, wealth, charm, and order, yet also associated with death, war, the occult, pestilence, and atrocities. In the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of the Rat is associated with the earthly branch symbol 子.

Kozue Chihara

January 24, 2008

MaoChan had covered in this post about some massive girl on girl motorboating action. Well, after a long search (none actually) and a few trips in the Mystery Machine, the case of what the fuck is the name of that awesome show has been solved.

The show is called Miniskirt Police and the girl is Kozue Chihara こずえ. She is an “Osaka native was a former race queen before moving to the TV world and who dreams of a Jpop career.” Wow a race queen and a…… who cares. More clips of her “talent” and “abilities” after the link.

Boobs.

*Hopefully this also makes up for missing a few posts here and there. If not, screw you too.

Haneru no Tobira: Jump Rope Challenge

January 21, 2008

Haneru no Tobira is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows to watch clips from. Their wacky costumes and challenges provide endless entertainment. Today’s challenge comes in the form of jump roping. No, not how many jumps you can do but how many ropes can you jump at once. And should you fail the punishment is death the usual blowing of foul mouth odor into your face via the crazy spiderlady.

The one thing though that I still can’t see without fear is that damn spiderlady’s face. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with it but she is fucked up. Like staring at a car accident, I say look away but my eyes are stuck out of fear and curiosity.

How to Jump Rope And Look Constipated

January 10, 2008

While most people when watching this video focus on the fact that the girl can jump rope incredibly fast, 151 times in 30 seconds, they are missing an all important lesson that she is trying to help out with. And that is how to jump rope and look constipated.

Not many people have mastered the art, hence her being featured on a nightly variety show. Her skill and concentration are not to be rivaled as she portrays and conveys the look of a person trying to entice her uncooperative bowels into moving fecal matter out her rectum. But you can tell she is winning the battle as a smile is present on her face amidst the expressions of pushing and straining. If only we all had that kind of dedication to our personal abilities, humanity would be better off.
